CROMPTON, Beverly T, 74. In loving memory of Beverly Thorpe Crompton of Lakeside, Montana who passed away after a sudden illness January 22, 2004 at Kalispell Regional Medical Center. Beverly was born June 8, 1929 in Paterson, New Jersey to Amy and Reveren Roswell Hickelman and was raised in the New England area. She attended Oberlin College in Ohio, graduating with a degree in zoology. On November 26, 1953 Beverly married Francis Melvin Compton in Bristol, Connecticut. They were known to have a zest for adventure, pursuing their dreams in many locations which included Boston, Cincinnati, Detroit, Washington D.C., Fort Erie, Ontario and Red Deer, Alberta. In 1991, they chose Lakeside, Montana as their retirement location. The couple have four children, Catherine of Edmonton, Alberta, David of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Samuel of Kansas City and Leslie of Philadelphia, PA. Beverly's greatest love was her family. She raised her children with unsurpassed devotion and love, something f or which we will always be grateful. As her kids moved to different locations, Bev was never far behind, always helping out when needed. Beverly's talents were endless. They included sewing, quilting, flower arranging, scrapbooking and knitting. She was an avid gardener and was especially proud of her prize-winning roses cultivated while living in Fort Erie and Red Deer. She also had a passion for photography, decorating her home with family photos. Bev also devoted her time to helping Mel with his construction projects. Together they built eight houses. She helped from start to finish and was very proud of their accomplishments together. Over the last five years Beverly also found time to research and document her genealogy, providing an everlasting record of our ancestral heritage. Thank you for everything, Mom. Bev is survived by her beloved Mel, four children, six grandchildren and three nieces. Memorial services for Beverly T Crompton were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2004 in the chapel of Johnson Mortuary with Rev. Glenn Woodson officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to the Faciouscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy (FSH) SOeciety, 3 Westwood Road, Lexington, MA -2420 or the charity of your choice.
