James Arden Zahn of 348 Eastwood Crescent, Crystal Beach, died at Douglas Memorial Hospital on Sept. 29, 1985.
Born in Fort Erie on June 23, 1913, he was employed at the C.N.R. for 39 years, until his retirement in 1973. He continued to work for 13 years at the Jockey Club.
A resident of the Greater Fort Erie area all his life, Mr. Zahn was a member of the Roman Catholic church, the Fort Erie Fire Department No. 7, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 71 and a member of the Railroad carmen.
Mr. Zahn is survived his sons, James, Frederick and Larry, all of Fort Erie; and his daughter, Nancy (Mrs. Wayne Hardwick) of Niagara Falls.
Also surviving are brothers, William of Fort Erie: Edward of New York: Keith of London; his sister, Wilhemina Johnson of New York and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services took place at the Fort Erie Chapel of the Davidson Funeral Homes on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 1 p.m. Father Loftus officiated the service.
Interment followed at the Greenwood Cemetery.
