WINGER, Arnold Joseph (Barney) of Fort Erie passed away peacefully at the Douglas Memorial Hospital on Thursday, October 21, 2004 at the age of 81 years. Born in Stevensville, Arnold has lived in this area all his life. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years, Rhoda (2002), loving father of Gloria (John) Gabor of Welland, Gwen Winger of Fort Erie, Greg (Marie) Winger of Mississauga, cherished grampa of Craig Sabourin of Fort Erie, John (Tracey) Gabor of Welland, Cheryl Guthro of Welland, Anne Sabourin of Fort Erie, Nicole Winger of Ottawa, devoted great-grandpa of Jamie, Amanda, River, Chad, Corinne, *Curtis, brothers and sisters Orpha Winger, Fern Hill Clinton Winger and Marvin Winger. Predeceased by sisters Evelyn Kreider, Velma Nicks and Sadie James, brothers Owen, Floyd and Earl. Arnold served overseas in WWII and was a long time volunteer of the Fort Erie Fire Department Station #1, also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #71. Friends are invited to THE FORT ERIE CHAPEL of the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOMES, 21 Wintemute Street on Saturday from 10:00a.m. until time of Firefighter walk through at 1:50 followed by a Royal Canadian Legion Service. Following the Legion service a Funeral Service will take place with Cannon David Thomas officiating. Cremation is to follow. Interment of ashes will take place at a later date. A memorial tree will be planted to honour the memory of Amold in Memory Woods.
