L.C. (Bud) Williams, president of Williams Gold Refining , Company of Canada Ltd. from 1950 until his retirement in 1980, died Saturday, August 31, 1991.
Williams Gold was one of the 20 largest manufacturers of dental & materials in Canada. Williams & Gold sporting division produced Williams Warblers, a line of a fishing lures significantly expanded and popularized during his presidency. Fishing was his hobby as well as his business. Mr. Williams worked at Williams Gold from 1925 until 1980.
He was active in community affairs throughout his life. He served as a town councillor for i the Town of Fort Erie from 1955-59 and from 1962-69. He was chairman of a variety of committees including finance, streets and sewers, relief, property joint services, and waterworks. Mr. Williams also served on town council's industrial, charity, health and sanitation committees. He also served on the board of health during his tenure on council.
