PLATO, Helen (Lopacki) -At the Douglas Memorial Hospital on Monday, August 25, 2008, surrounded by her loving family, God called a special woman home. Helen Plato, lovingly devoted wife of 52 years to Franklin Raymond Plato and much loved mother of Rick and Andrea Plato, John and Shelley Tamas, Jeff and Sue Quin, Sandy Thomas and Joanne Switzer and Joe and Pam Sheptenko. Loving Nanny of Helecia Gross, John Tamas, Stephanie Quin, Jacquie Lyons, Joanna Staniak, Brittany Quin, Jessica Thomas and Mollie Sheptenko. Great nanny to Aaron, Elliot, John, Kaitlyn, Brock, Hannah and Riley. Dear sister of Barbara Keller and Sandy Fowle. She was predeceased by her parents Sigismund and Helen Lopacki, her brother Sigismund (Buzz) and her grandson Bobby Quin. Helen was a devoted member of St. George's Catholic Church, St. George Council of The Catholic Women's League of Canada, Sacred Heart League, . Past chairperson of the bereavement committee, Past President of the Girl Guides of Canada Mothers Auxiliary. Parish prayers were recited in the chapel of THE WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday afternoon at 3:30. The Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. George's Catholic Church Thursday morning at eleven o'clock. Interment took place in St. Michael's Cemetery. It was Helen's wish that memorial donations would be directed to the Sisters of St Francis at Stella Niagara.
