Desmond Meighan Wood, of 257 Phipps St., Fort Erie died at Douglas Memorial Hospital July 23, 1988.
Born in Tillsonburg, Ontario March 1, 1926, Mr. Wood was assistant manager of materials at Fleet Manufacturing. He was also employed as an inspector for the Department of National Defence at Fleet. He had served 25 years with the R.C.A.
A member of the Presbyterian Church Mr. Wood was a member of the Hugh Murray Chapter No. 184 of the Masonic Lodge, a member of Royal
Canadian Legion Branch 71 and of the Canadian Council of Retirees of Fort Erie.
He was the son of Harry Wood and Bessie (nee Partol), both of whom predeceased him.
Surviving Mr. Wood are his wife, Annie Whitten Wood; daughters, Judith Anne (Mrs. Fred Treischal) of Stratford and Desanne (Mrs. Herb Clayton) of Fort Erie; his brothers, William and wife, Bea, of St. Thomas; Robert of Tillsonburg, Stanley and wife, Margaret, of Ottawa. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Erin, Katie, Michael, Stephanie, Matthew.
The Rev. Hugh Jones of Niagara Falls officiated the memorial service at the Fort Erie chapel of the Davidson Funeral Homes Tuesday July 26, 1988 at 1:30pm. Cremation to take place. Interment will be in McAffee Cemetery.
